How David Moyes can make Everton history vs Nottingham Forest
Everton face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday, and they could do something that they have never managed before.
They will come up against former manager Sean Dyche for the second time in a month, as the sides met at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on 6 December.
Everton won that clash by a 3-0 scoreline, and David Moyes will be hoping that they can do the same this time at the City Ground.
The Blues are on a run of three games without a win, but their recent record against Forest is brilliant, especially on the road.

How can Moyes make history in Forest vs Everton?
Everton may be without the likes of Jack Grealish, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jarrad Branthwaite, as Moyes was coy when asked about injuries.
They may still be confident, though, as they have won four of the last five away matches against Forest, including the last two.
| Match | Date | Result |
| Nottingham Forest vs Everton | Oct 1996 | 0-1 |
| Nottingham Forest vs Everton | Sep 1998 | 0-2 |
| Nottingham Forest vs Everton | Mar 2023 | 2-2 |
| Nottingham Forest vs Everton | Dec 2023 | 0-1 |
| Nottingham Forest vs Everton | Apr 2025 | 0-1 |
The Blues have never won three consecutive visits to the Tricky Trees, so they can make history if they can manage it.
What is the key to victory for Everton?
For starters, the Toffees need to be solid at the back, as they allowed Burnley to have several chances last time out.
They also need more from their full-backs in the attacking areas, Vitalii Mykolenko was particularly poor for Everton against the Clarets when he tried to go forward.
However, the most important issue, is a lack of goals from their strikers, with Beto and Thierno Barry having one goal each in the Premier League this season.
- Beto has created 4.35 expected goals, while Barry has created 2.82, per Sofascore
- Beto has taken five shots on target, while Barry has taken just three
- Both have missed six big chances in the top-flight
That is simply not good enough, and they need to be on top form, if they are to pick up three points from Dyche and his side.
If the forwards fail to fire, and Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall are still out, it may be a very long evening for the Merseysiders, and Forest may deny them the chance to rewrite the record books.
