Everton have already given up on Tyler Dibling after transfer latest

Tyler Dibling’s gametime looks set to be restricted even further at Everton.

Of those who made the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the summer, it’s only Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Jack Grealish who have had any real impact.

Thierno Barry has yet to impress, Adam Aznou has already been linked with an exit, while Dibling has had to wait for the absence of Iliman Ndiaye for his chance to showcase his worth.

However, in regard to the latter, it seems the Toffees are already preparing to move on from him, with a deal lined up for another Premier League winger.

Brennan Johnson deal speaks volumes about Dibling’s future

Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that Everton have made contact to sign Brennan Johnson from Tottenham.

The 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Crystal Palace, but the Toffees are one of three other Premier League clubs to have made a late attempt to hijack the deal.

If those reports prove accurate, Johnson would become a third right-winger at Everton, and given the likely price tag of £35million, that wouldn’t reflect his position in the pecking order.

He would immediately move ahead of Dibling, who has already been limited to very few minutes of Premier League football this season.

Whether Everton look to move him on in a loan deal or potentially use him elsewhere remains to be seen, though it doesn’t bode well for his future.

Where else has Dibling featured in his career?

Dibling’s senior appearances are certainly short in numbers, with the majority of them coming as a right-winger.

However, mainly from his time with Southampton, he has played in several other positions, most notably in an attacking midfield role.

The English teen has featured 25 times in an attacking midfield position and also six times in a deeper midfield role.

Ironically, his best goal return is actually in that position, with 11 goals and six assists.

While his more favoured position right now is certainly on the right, it may be in Moyes’ thinking to transform Dibling elsewhere, and it wouldn’t be the first time that the Scot has done that.
