David Moyes must go all out to sign ‘special’ striker for Everton amid Beto exit news

Everton’s hunt for a new striker continues, despite David Moyes watching his centre-forwards score twice in a 4-2 defeat against Brentford.

Beto scored after coming off the bench against Brentford and impressed with his all-round performance, while Thierno Barry netted for the second time in as many games.

Moyes will have been delighted to see his strikers find the net after a campaign largely dominated by poor finishing, yet the Scot is still in the market for a clinical finisher.

Everton are looking to sell Beto this month, and the 27-year-old’s swift departure from the Hill Dickinson Stadium could open the door for a new signing.

Beto has been offered to Fenerbahce

West Ham were linked with Beto in December, but they have since signed Pablo from Gil Vicente, while Taty Castellanos is closing in on a move to East London.

But the Guinea-Bissau international has mainly been linked with a move abroad, and Roma are one club who have looked at Beto in a possible swap deal with Artem Dovbyk.

The towering striker has also attracted interest from Turkey, and according to Fotomac, Fenerbahce have been approached by agents in a deal to sign the exit-bound Everton striker.

Fenerbahce tried to capture him previously, but a move wasn’t possible due to financial reasons, and now a final decision is set to be made by manager Domenico Tedesco.

Beto’s exit from the Merseyside club is arguably needed for Moyes to sign a replacement, with one name being the perfect contender.

Everton should go all out for Troy Parrott

Everton have been linked with a January transfer for Troy Parrott following his goalscoring exploits at AZ Alkmaar.

The former Tottenham youngster has transformed into one of Europe’s most clinical finishers, having plundered 16 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions for his club this term.

Troy Parrott’s stats per 90 past year
0.43 non-penalty goals
3.51 shots
2.95 shot-creating actions
6.89 touches attacking pen
1.86 progressive passes
1.3 progressive carries

Parrott has also been in ‘special’ form for his country, and it was his incredible hat-trick away to Hungary in November that booked Ireland’s place in the World Cup qualifying play-off against the Czech Republic in March.

Everton are crying out for a ruthless finisher in the box, and at a cost of around £30million, Moyes could land someone who, at the age of 23, is only going to get better.
