Everton want to sign Zuriko Davitashvili as offers submitted, ‘panic has set in’ at selling club
Everton have set their sights on signing Zuriko Davitashvili this January.
With Everton’s recent form and the concerns that have lingered over the campaign, the Toffees are expected to do some business in January.
Many expected a new striker to be the priority, and with Everton having been linked with Jorgen Strand Larsen, that expectation remains the same.
However, the Merseysiders will also look to bolster their squad elsewhere, and Davitashvili has emerged as an option to boost their attacking options.
Saint-Etienne fears grow amid Zuriko Davitashvili update
Davitashvili is a name that will mean very little to Everton supporters, though to those in France, it holds significant value.
That is because the Georgian has consistently been one of the best players for Saint-Etienne since arriving in 2024 from Bordeaux.
Last season, the 24-year-old registered 17 goal contributions from the wide areas, and with 10 already this season, he is on course to beat that.
Now, Sebastien Denis has reported that Everton are “very interested” in signing Saint-Etienne’s “best player” in January, with a report in Foot Mercato stating that “panic has gripped” the Ligue 1 outfit as a result.
It’s claimed that the French outfit are unlikely to entertain the offers received for the Georgian international, though their resolve on that stance is almost certain to be tested.
Tyler Dibling exit really could be on the cards
Not only were Everton linked with Brennan Johnson before his move to Crystal Palace, but the links to Davitashvili make it clear that the Toffees want another winger.
Once again, his arrival would not be to make up the numbers, but instead to force himself into David Moyes’ reckoning, which is something Tyler Dibling has rarely been able to do.
While Davitashvili typically features on the left, he has also played 57 games as a right-winger.
Only in the absence of Iliman Ndiaye has Dilbing been afforded a chance, and with the Senegal international due to return within a few weeks, his spot on the bench will return to normal.
Davitashvili would be an excellent addition, but one that could see Dibling leave on loan.
