Everton handed positive omen as dreadful Wolves reveal emerges ahead of Hill Dickinson clash
Everton host Wolves at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Wednesday as the busiest period of the season comes to a close.
David Moyes was left frustrated as Everton lost 4-2 to Brentford on Sunday and missed the chance to move into the top six.
Everton do have the chance to move back into the top half of the table with a win over Rob Edwards’ side, and Moyes has done a remarkable job in turning the Toffees into competitors for European football.
Everton beat Wolves 3-2 on 30 August, and they should feel confident in replicating that success, given how much the visitors have struggled on the road.
Wolves’ away record is simply abysmal
Wolves have scored just one goal from open play away from home in the Premier League this season, the fewest of any side.
Five of their last six away league goals have come via corners.
Wolves have also won none of their last 12 away Premier League matches, despite winning four consecutively beforehand.
| Games played | 146 |
| Wins | 65 |
| Draws | 29 |
| Losses | 52 |
They’ve also conceded the opening goal in their last seven games on the road, although they came from one down to draw 1-1 at Old Trafford against Man Utd last time out.
Everton have lost their last two Premier League games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the Toffees last suffered three successive home league defeats in September 2023.
All the signs point to Moyes’ side getting back to winning ways and condemning Wolves to another disappointing result on the road.

Everton are going through a mixed patch of form, but Jack Grealish has performed consistently throughout the season.

Jack Grealish set to continue excellent record vs Wolves
Grealish has provided six Premier League assists this season, only recording more in 2022-23 for Man City (seven) and 2020-21 for Aston Villa (10).
Only Andrei Kanchelskis (eight in 1995-96), Peter Beardsley (seven in 1992-93), and Nick Barmby (seven in 1996-97) have ever assisted more goals in their debut Premier League season for Everton.
Grealish was excellent against Wolves in what was his first start for Everton, registering two assists and proving to be a handful on the left wing.
With Iliman Ndiaye still playing at AFCON, the onus is on the 30-year-old to be the team’s main creative force, and he could be the key to unlocking Wolves’ shaky defence.
