Premier League announcement reveals huge Everton ban after controversial incident vs Wolves

David Moyes will have been left stunned by the final few moments of Everton’s 1-1 draw with Wolves on Wednesday.

Everton hosted Wolves at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, looking to get back to winning ways in the Premier League.

The Toffees lost 4-2 to Brentford last time out, and Moyes will do a good job to find any positives after dropping points to a bottom-of-the-league Wolves.

However, the result was just one of the Everton boss’s concerns, as Michael Keane and Jack Grealish both received red cards.

The Premier League have now released an update on the statement regarding Keane’s dismissal.

Premier League explain Michael Keane’s violent conduct

Keane is an important player for Everton, and that showed after the centre-back’s first-half goal put the Blues one goal to the good.

Things then took a turn for the worse for the 32-year-old, who was booked after pulling Wolves forward Tolu Arokodare’s hair during an aerial duel.

However, after a VAR review, the initial yellow card was changed by referee Thomas Kirk.

On The Premier League’s Match Centre account on X, they explained why Kirk overturned his original decision of a yellow card for Keane, who then issued a red card for ‘violent conduct’.

With Keane’s act of silliness deemed as violent, the Everton defender will now miss three matches for the Toffees.

Which games will Keane miss?

Everton are in the middle of a very busy period of fixtures, and with Jarrad Branthwaite still out injured, Keane’s red card now digs even deeper.

Keane will now miss the Toffees’ next three competitive matches, including the FA Cup clash against Sunderland on Saturday.

He will then be unavailable for games versus Aston Villa and Leeds United in the Premier League, as Moyes will need to find a solution.

The Everton boss could look to play Jake O’Brien in his natural position, but then must decide who will play at right-back for the three important games.
