Beto on transfer shortlist, Everton striker may leave but there’s a twist
Real Betis are keeping an eye on Beto at Everton in the winter transfer window.
The LaLiga club have made moves for the striker in previous transfer windows, and he’s again emerged as a target for them.
Beto’s future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium remains uncertain, with West Ham United one of the teams being linked with the 27-year-old.
David Moyes has preferred Thierno Barry up top, but the Blues arguably need to add depth up front with the lack of options in the number nine position.
Real Betis can’t afford Beto transfer from Everton
Beto is an “unfeasible” option for Real Betis in January, according to Mateo Gonzalez.
The ABC journalist reveals on 8 January that the Spanish outfit are eyeing several options to bolster their attack, with the Guinea-Bissau international among them.
It’s been claimed in the ABC report that the centre-forward may leave the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the coming weeks, but it doesn’t look like the LaLiga club can afford him.
The Friedkin Group and Moyes agree on the recruitment strategy, with only a couple of loan deals expected to go through in the current transfer window.

David Moyes has glaring January priority after what Michael Keane did
Michael Keane’s sending off against Wolves was a big talking point, but the centre-back scored for the Toffees in the 1-1 draw on 7 January.
The defender now has three Premier League goals this season, the same as Barry and one more than Beto, which is embarrassing.
| Player | Matches played | Goals |
| Iliman Ndiaye | 16 | 4 |
| Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall | 15 | 4 |
| Thierno Barry | 21 | 3 |
| Michael Keane | 19 | 3 |
If the Blues have any ambition of getting a European spot by the end of the current campaign, they need to add a reliable goalscorer to their ranks.
With Barry and Beto struggling to score consistently, Moyes has an evident priority in January, but whether he’ll be handed a new number nine remains to be seen.
