Ryan Alebiosu transfer update emerges after Everton learn price tag
Everton are yet to make contact with Blackburn Rovers for right-back Ryan Alebiosu in the winter transfer window.
Alebiosu has been linked with a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but the Toffees haven’t taken any steps to sign the defender, who is valued at around £4million at Ewood Park.
The Blues arguably need to add a few defensive options to their squad in January, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll push ahead to sign the Nigeria international once he returns from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Victor Osimhen has been impressed with Alebiosu in training with the Super Eagles, and the Merseyside outfit have certainly been given even more reason to sign the 24-year-old defender.
Blackburn Rovers in strong position amid Everton interest in Ryan Alebiosu
Alebiosu signed a three-year contract at Blackburn in the summer, putting the Rovers in a strong position regarding his future, according to The Lancashire Telegraph.
The news outlet reports on 8 January that while the right-back is a potential target at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, there has been no approach from the Toffees.
Alebiosu made his debut for Nigeria in the final group game against Uganda at AFCON, and despite suffering a minor injury, he’s expected to be back for the semi-finals of the competition if the Super Eagles make it to that stage.
With Jake O’Brien playing out of position under Moyes, it’s apparent that the Merseyside outfit need to reinforce their defence sooner rather than later.
Alebiosu has found his feet in East Lancashire after progressing through the youth ranks at Arsenal and subsequently spending time in Scotland and Belgium.

Nathan Patterson doesn’t seem to have a future at Everton, with the Scotland international a bit-part player in recent months.
With the Toffees possibly signing Alebiosu in the near future, the former Rangers right-back could potentially be on his way out.

It’s not surprising to see the Blues holding off on an approach for the Nigerian ace, considering he’s at AFCON right now.
Once the tournament in Morocco ends, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Merseysiders submit a bid for Alebiosu, but only time will tell what will happen.
