Everton loanee Jack Grealish reacts as Man City transfer news finally confirmed

Jack Grealish is midway through his season-long loan at Everton but he has just reacted to some news regarding his parent club Manchester City.

Grealish joined Everton from Man City over the summer and immediately hit the ground running on Merseyside.

However, the winger’s form has dipped slightly in recent weeks, without the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall alongside him.

David Moyes’ side drew 1-1 with Wolves on Wednesday, but Grealish was sent off for sarcastically applauding the referee, and he will serve his suspension when the Toffees face Sunderland in the FA Cup.

Jack Grealish reacts to Antoine Semenyo news

Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a number of top clubs in the Premier League over recent months, following the news that he had a release clause in his contract with Bournemouth.

It became evident that Semenyo was going to be joining Man City, but he still played the first two games of January for Andoni Iraola’s side.

However, the winger has now finally completed his move to the Etihad Stadium for an initial fee of £62.5million.

City confirmed the signing on Instagram, posting a photo of Semenyo, Erling Haaland, and Rayan Cherki, with the caption: “Antoine Semenyo is a blue.”

Grealish was quick to show support to his parent club and the Ghanaian international, liking the welcome post.

Semenyo’s move to the City actually hurts Grealish’s chances of forcing his way back into Pep Guardiola’s plans, given that the former Bournemouth man plays in his position, so it may be a positive for Everton’s chances of getting a permanent deal done.

Will Grealish make permanent move to Everton?

Everton have the option to make Grealish’s loan move permanent in the summer, but the current buy clause sits at £50million.

It seems incredibly unlikely that the Merseyside outfit will pay that fee for the winger, given he turned 30 back in September.

Instead, Moyes’ side may look to renegotiate with City in order to find a more realistic price.

While Grealish’s form has dropped off since the start of the season, he still provides Everton with real creativity going forward, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Toffees work hard to get a deal over the line.
