Nathan Patterson swap deal now on cards as Everton ready priority transfer

Nathan Patterson could be on his way out of Everton this month.

The Toffees are looking to stay busy in the January transfer window, and David Moyes has admitted his wish for new signings.

Everton will also have to let some stars go to balance the books, with several players in need of game time.

Patterson has been linked with a move away from the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as the defender looks to kick on after recovering from a long-term injury.

However, Moyes could also use the right-back as part of a useful swap deal for the Toffees.

Everton and Bologna have perfect swap deal in the making

Everton are said to be interested in Bologna’s Emil Holm, a right-back who has racked up impressive attacking numbers in the first half of the season.

The defensive area is clearly somewhere that Moyes wants to improve, having had to utilise Jake O’Brien out of position for cover at right-back so far this campaign.

It’s now been revealed that Bologna are looking at the potential of signing Patterson from Everton this month, according to Lyall Thomas.

The Toffees and the Serie A side could meet in the middle, and agree to a straight swap deal which would see either player go in the opposite direction.

Though there have been no suggestions of a swap move yet, it would be no surprise to see this deal happen in the coming weeks.

Everton’s list of potential right-backs is growing

Along with Holm, the Toffees have been linked with former Arsenal man Brooke Norton-Cuffy, who also plays in the Serie A for Genoa.

Despite playing more than double Holm’s league appearances this season, Norton-Cuffy has three fewer attacking returns than the Swede.

Everton have also been tipped to sign Ryan Alebiosu from Blackburn Rovers, with the right-back currently away with Nigeria for the African Cup of Nations.

It’s not clear who Moyes will sign yet; however, the Everton boss is set on signing an attacking full-back who can create for the Toffees.
