Everton learn Wilson Isidor transfer fate as £21.7m bid submitted

Sunderland’s Wilson Isidor has been linked with a winter move to Everton.

Time is slowly starting to run out for the Toffees to seal some winter arrivals, with Everton one of a handful of Premier League clubs yet to do any business.

With that said, David Moyes’ side have been linked with several players across various areas of the squad, with Isidor the latest to be mooted for a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Given the injury situation on Merseyside, the Blues certainly need some reinforcements.

The 25-year-old striker has somewhat fallen out of favour on Wearside, adding fuel to the fire as to whether he could be moved on before the deadline on 2 February.

What has Regis Le Bris said about Wilson Isidor’s future?

Everton aren’t the only ones interested in Isidor, with Nottingham Forest also said to have shown an interest in him.

The Black Cats are already said to have received a bid in the region of £21.7million from Ligue 1 outfit Paris FC, though their coach seems to be against the idea.

Brian Brobbey has taken his place at the Stadium of Light, with the Frenchman limited to just 87 minutes of gametime across their last five fixtures.

However, despite his lack of involvement, Le Bris still seems to see Isidor in his plans for the campaign.

Via his press conference, the Sunderland boss said: “For Wilson, we’ve had many conversations with him and his agent recently.

“He’s a really good player, important for us, did really well in the past and for sure in the future as well.

Le Bris’ words suggest that the Black Cats aren’t looking to move Isidor on, though that may change if the player agitates for a move.

Would Isidor be an upgrade for Everton?

This entirely depends on how Moyes would utilise him.

Isidor has fallen out of favour at Sunderland because of his lack of ability to hold the ball up, which is something that Brobbey has been outstanding at.

If Everton want him to do that, then it’s a no-brainer to walk away from the table.

However, the Frenchman has showcased his ability as an instinctive finisher and one who is more than capable of getting in behind opposition defences.

That’s something that neither Thierno Barry nor Beto have been able to do this season, and if used in that way, he certainly would be a shrewd addition.
