Everton send direct response as Juventus submit surprise proposal for Beto

David Moyes wants to replace Beto in the transfer window, as Everton have multiple replacements in mind.

The Toffees have been struggling in the attacking department this season, with Beto in particular coming under fire for performances.

The striker joined the Blues from Udinese in 2023 for a total deal worth £26million that has failed to work out.

Everton have their sights set on signing Youssef En-Nesyri from Fenerbahce this month, which would put Beto even further down Moyes‘ pecking order.

However, the Toffees may be looking for a specific deal to allow the 27-year-old to leave the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the coming days.

Everton reject Juventus’ loan offer for Beto

The biggest issue that Bluenoses have with Beto is his lack of composure in front of goal, not to mention his overall abilities on the ball.

The Friedkin Group have tested the waters with a few transfers, but may need to raise funds in order to get a couple of signings over the line.

That may be the case with Beto, after Juventus’ surprise approach.

According to credible journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu on Monday, Everton have knocked back an approach from Juventus to take Beto on loan for the rest of the season.

The proposal will come as a shock to many, as the number nine has done everything but impress this campaign, and it’s rather unexpected that Juventus are in for him.

No details on finances have been reported, so it’s safe to assume that it was just a straight loan that was offered by the Italian giants.

Everton playing with fire in the case of Beto; here’s why

Juventus will most likely have confidence that they can rekindle Beto’s form if the striker were to return to Italy, where he earned his £25m move to Everton.

However, there’s no guarantee that Juventus will come back in with an improved offer for the Guinea-Bissau international, and it could leave Moyes in a predicament.

Fenerbahce have also been linked with a move for Beto, but interest from Turkey has died down in recent days, which only adds to the concern.

Beto’s last five seasons

Everton’s transfer activity has so far indicated that Beto is not in Moyes’ plans, so for the Toffees to be stingy on letting the striker go is a worry.

The Friedkin Group look to be driving a hard bargain to let the attacker depart this month, and it may only come back to haunt Everton in the long run.
