Everton given Jhon Duran green light as Fenerbahce transfer stance shared

Jhon Duran has been linked with a move to Everton in recent days.

The former Aston Villa man is currently on loan at Fenerbahce but his performances have so far been inconsistent, leading to speculation over his future.

With Beto’s time at Hill Dickinson Stadium up in the air, Everton would need to sign a replacement to facilitate that move, and that is where the links with Duran have come from.

Interestingly, Fenerbahce also hold an interest in Beto this window.

Reports suggested Duran wants to stay at Fenerbahce, but a new development could now open the door for him to come to the Toffees.

Jhon Duran wants Premier League move if he leaves Turkey

Duran would be an excellent option for Everton in this transfer window and is in no doubt an upgrade on Beto.

Everton fans will be well aware of the qualities the Colombian can offer, as his late thunderbolt completed an Aston Villa comeback in the 2024-2025 season.

Duran ended his short spell in England with 20 goals in all competitions for Aston Villa.

There have been some concerns over Duran’s priorities this window, but the door may now be open for Everton to make their move.

According to Turkish outlet Sabah on Thursday, while Duran did travel with Fenerbahce to face FCSB in the Europa League, he did not partake in training in order to ‘facilitate transfer negotiations’.

This suggests that the Yellow Canaries are open to allowing him to move on.

While Duran’s wish may be to stay in Turkey, the same report shares that in the event he leaves, he would prefer a move back to the Premier League.

His parent club, Al Nassr, want to use the money they receive for Duran in order to fund a transfer for N’Golo Kante.

Everton should use Beto to move Duran deal quickly

With Fenerbahce reportedly willing to let 22-year-old Duran leave, Everton should pounce as quickly as possible.

And with Beto wanted by the Turkish side, it could make negotiations much easier. If Everton can agree a deal for the Guinea-Bissau international to move to the Istanbul club, then Duran’s loan being cut short can be made smoother.

However, that move would have to be made alongside agreeing a transfer fee with Al Nassr to ensure all sides get what they want.

Duran, despite often playing second fiddle to Ollie Watkins, has proven himself as a capable Premier League goal scorer.

While Thierno Barry has been firing lately for the Toffees, adding more firepower up top could aid them in their quest to qualify for Europe.
