Everton know when Dane Scarlett can make move as deal confirmed after name-drop

Everton could have the perfect opportunity to sign Dane Scarlett ahead of next season.

The Toffees have been linked to multiple strikers this winter, with the potential Everton return of Romelu Lukaku exciting fans.

Jhon Duran has also emerged as an Everton target, although a move is yet to go through for either target with just days remaining until the 2 February deadline.

There is a chance that Raheem Sterling joins Everton on a free, but that won’t necessarily solve striker issues at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Scarlett could be looked at by David Moyes and Co, but despite the latest namedrop, a move will have to wait until the summer.

Everton namedropped in transfer race for Dane Scarlett

The Tottenham youngster was once seen as the future of the North London club, but he has struggled to hit the heights in recent years.

Scarlett has gone out on three loan deals over the years, but has never scored more than six goals in a senior campaign.

That hasn’t stopped Spurs fans from rating the striker highly, while hoping to see more of the 21-year-old throughout the campaign.

Thomas Frank hasn’t trusted him and has now allowed the forward to depart on a new temporary move to Hibernian.

That comes just hours after former Toffees scout Bryan King put Everton forward as a side who should be interested in Scarlett.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, King said: “I would say he’s in a position to say, ‘If I’m not part of your plans, I want to leave.’

I would have thought a top-end Championship side would be interested, and sides above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Your Leeds Uniteds and Evertons, Middlesbroughs and others are all clubs that would be of interest.

Everton can watch Scarlett at Hibernian before summer move

The Blues may have missed the chance to land the Englishman in January, but he could have an ideal chance to prove himself before a summer move.

There is likely to be plenty of interest in his signature, so he needs to take his opportunity and make it work in the Scottish Premiership.

Everton can then watch the forward from afar and decide how to approach a potential summer move with Tottenham.

That could provide Moyes and Co. with the perfect case study to understand what sort of player he is getting his hands on before making a move.

Scarlett could find himself at a Premier League club as a regular ahead of next season, but that will depend on his own work with Hibs now.
