Tyrique George last-minute exit on cards in Everton transfer latest

Everton have expressed an interest in signing Chelsea forward Tyrique George before transfer deadline day.

David Moyes fears Jack Grealish may be out for the rest of the season, making attacking reinforcements an evident priority for the Toffees.

George has been linked with a loan move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the youngster making just four Premier League appearances this season.

The coming hours will determine whether the Merseyside outfit will sign a player to bolster the Scottish manager’s squad, and the Englishman seems to be firmly on their radar.

Everton target Tyrique George expected to leave Chelsea

George is expected to leave Chelsea before the 2 February deadline amid interest from the Toffees, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet reports on 31 January that the Blues and Sunderland are chasing the 19-year-old’s signature as things stand.

It’s been claimed that George, an England Under-21 international, could leave Stamford Bridge on loan or a permanent deal, and his situation will certainly be worth watching closely.

Moyes will surely be eager to add some strength at the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the second half of the season as the Merseyside outfit challenge for a European spot in the Premier League.

The Friedkin Group must seek a replacement for Grealish, but it remains to be seen whether the American owners will be willing to make an investment.

Dwight McNeil is being linked with a move to Nottingham Forest, but the Toffees want reinforcements up front before thinking about his departure.

If Everton do get a deal over the line for George, then it wouldn’t be surprising to see the former Burnley star reunite with Sean Dyche at the Tricky Trees.

McNeil has been underwhelming for the Blues this season, and it isn’t surprising that Moyes has been reluctant to play him.

The Englishman seems to have lost his spark and is unable to compete with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye for a place in the starting lineup, and a move away would certainly be best for both parties if the Merseyside outfit are successful in their pursuit of George.
