David Moyes drops three-word update as Everton submit last-gasp loan-to-buy bid
Everton could be just hours away from finalising their first signing of the winter transfer market.
David Moyes has been patiently waiting for a new addition this window, with the Friedkin Group seeming slow on the transfer front.
The Toffees have had to watch competitors pip them to their main targets, but they’ve always had backup plans in place.
Jack Grealish’s injury blow has added even more urgency to a new arrival, with the winger set to be sidelined until at least April.
Thankfully for the Blues, Chelsea’s Tyrique George could soon be on his way to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes expecting Everton signing amid Tyrique George offer
Everton have submitted a loan-to-buy bid for George, in an ambitious attempt to pry the promising youngster away from Stamford Bridge.
The 19-year-old broke onto the scene last season, and, as highlighted by Sofascore, he shone particularly in Chelsea’s trophy-winning UEFA Conference League campaign.
Everton drew 1-1 with Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, and Moyes was asked if he still thinks there’s a chance that the Toffees sign someone before Monday’s deadline.
Moyes said, as quoted by the Daily Mail’s print edition on Sunday: “Yes, I do.”
The Blues snatched a point late on against Brighton due to Beto’s rebound tap-in, but a lack of chance creation proved why George could be such a good addition for Moyes.

Need for George clear after what Moyes did vs Brighton
Moyes has been up against it in recent weeks with multiple injuries and other problems mounting off the field, but Everton have kept picking up points here and there.
The Toffees could still be in the top 10 come the end of play on game week 24, but Moyes’ tactics against Brighton were a reflection of the players that he has available.
Harrison Armstrong could return to Preston North End after Everton cut his loan short at the start of the month, but right now, he is playing a part for Moyes.

Armstrong was given a role on the right side of attack versus Brighton, but also had duties to drop in deep, too. However, it’s perhaps the first time that Moyes has played without two natural wingers this season.
George would give the Toffees versatility across the front line, particularly on the wings, with the need for a new playmaker evident.
