Fulham get ‘desperate’ over Harry Wilson after Everton development

Everton have the chance to sign Harry Wilson on a free transfer from Fulham in the summer.

Wilson was subject to Everton interest in the winter as his spell at Craven Cottage could have come to a premature end.

The Wales international is out of contract in the summer at Fulham, so is open to a new agreement elsewhere.

David Moyes and Everton have targeted a move for Wilson, but were unable to get a deal over the line before the January window slammed shut.

The Toffees now must step up their interest if they are to sign Wilson, with talks set to get underway now that deadline day has passed.

Harry Wilson contract talks begin

Wilson would represent a top signing for Everton off the back of an excellent campaign so far with the Cottagers.

The Welshman has stepped up massively this season and has proven himself at the Premier League level after years of questions surrounding his quality.

It is now questions over his contract and future at Fulham that are being raised, as he could walk away from Marco Silva’s side on a free transfer at the end of the season.

That has now caused an interesting situation at Craven Cottage, with The Standard reporting on Tuesday that contract negotiations will soon resume in West London.

Fulham recently rejected an approach from Everton for his signature and can now step up talks as they are “desperate” to keep hold of the attacking midfielder.

Discussions are said to have been underway for many months, but an agreement is yet to be reached.

Door still open for Everton to sign Wilson

Fulham may be keen to get a new deal signed for the ex-Liverpool man, but a return to Merseyside could still be on the cards.

Wilson could prove to be a perfect option for Moyes and Co., especially if Jack Grealish isn’t going to stick around at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The Manchester City loanee has thrived in L4, so there is no reason why the 28-year-old won’t follow suit if he signs on a free transfer this summer.

The Toffees now need to step in and showcase their interest to Wilson and make sure they get there in front of Fulham.
