Steve Parish’s role in Dwight McNeil debacle revealed as Everton star left stranded by Crystal Palace
Dwight McNeil’s deadline day move to Crystal Palace fell through at the very last minute.
Tyrique George completed his loan move to Everton from Chelsea in the latter stages of the transfer window, subduing the fears that had emerged from Jack Grealish’s season-ending injury.
However, the arrival of the teenager also cast a shadow of doubt over the future of McNeil, who has already had a lack of influence for the Toffees this season.
Crystal Palace looked set to seal a late swoop for McNeil on Monday night, but that deal collapsed, with details now emerging as to why.

Stev Parish played signficant role in Dwight McNeil transfer collapse
McNeil’s partner has already spoken out on the disappointment that emerged from his failed move to Selhurst Park, and understandably so.
The 26-year-old was left in limbo in the final hours of the window, with his Everton contract due to expire next summer.
It was suggested that the deal fell through because Palace adjusted the agreement, which initially started as a £20million transfer, but then turned into a loan deal with an obligation to buy.
While that may still be true, Alan Nixon has responded to a comment on his Patreon stating that Steve Parish “went missing” throughout negotiations.
It leaves McNeil in a very tough place, and one that is unlikely to be resolved until the summer transfer window.
The two options that McNeil can now consider to leave Everton
The English transfer window is now closed, meaning even if they wanted to, Everton would have no way of replacing McNeil.
However, for him, the possibility of an exit has not been ruled out yet, albeit unlikely.
Foreign transfer windows remain open, with Turkish clubs still looking at the Premier League to do some of their own late business.
There have been no links in that regard, but it remains something to be aware of.
McNeil‘s other option is to wait it out until the summer, when the Toffees would be better placed to sanction his exit, albeit for a smaller fee.
However, it remains to be seen if Crystal Palace will retain their interest that long, but if so, they would likely be able to secure him in a discounted deal, given the fact that he would have one year left on his deal.
