Tyrique George will become instant hit with Everton fans after what he’s heard

Tyrique George arrived to rescue Everton’s winter transfer window at the last minute.

It was no secret that David Moyes wanted Everton to sign a forward in the winter window, as he looked to sharpen his cutting edge in attack.

However, despite Everton being linked with a host of attackers, Moyes and the Toffees found themselves hitting brick wall after frustrating brick wall.

But, with the hours ticking down on deadline day, Everton received the breakthrough they’d been waiting for, as a loan deal for George was agreed and a medical was scheduled for the Chelsea talent.

Tyrique George to become instant hit with Evertonians

George has signed for Everton on loan with an option to buy, which is being speculated to be worth north of £22million, given that’s the bid Fulham saw rejected for him in the summer.

Whether Everton will trigger that option will, of course, depend on how well he takes to life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, as he is still only 19.

George does have some respectable first-team experience under his belt, though, from his time at Stamford Bridge, having made 37 total appearances for Chelsea.

As such, he’s definitely a player arriving on Merseyside with a big chance to make a real impact in Moyes’ side, and Toffees fans will already be right behind him after what he’s said about them.

Speaking after signing on Everton’s X account, George was full of praise for Everton fans, and he can’t wait to give his all for them.

“The fans are exceptional from what I’ve heard,” he explained when asked why he’d chosen to sign for Everton ahead of other clubs.

George also cites Moyes’ role in Everton move

When signing for a new club, it’s always wise to talk highly of your new manager whenever the opportunity arises in order to try and win that extra bit of affection and trust.

George has done exactly that, too, when speaking in an extended version of the same aforementioned interview via Everton’s official YouTube channel.

The England youth international waxed lyrical about Moyes, and was clearly being sincere and authentic when explaining just how important he was to his move to Merseyside.

“The gaffer, David Moyes: amazing manager,” George said.

“I spoke to him briefly. I had lunch, and I spoke to him briefly. He seems like an amazing person, not just as a manager, but just as an amazing person, and I can’t wait to play for him.”

George will probably have to be introduced from the bench for his first few Everton appearances, given the fact he’s not played a minute of competitive football since 16 December last year.

However, once he’s up to speed and fitness, he’ll be looking at the current options available across the forward line with real confidence that he can carve out a key role amongst them.
