Ex-Everton employee tears into Steve Parish ‘chaos’ after Dwight McNeil saga: ‘I’ve got no time for him at all’
Dwight McNeil looked destined to leave Everton for Crystal Palace on deadline day.
A surprise report emerged on Monday that suggested Palace had made a last-gasp bid for McNeil with just hours remaining in the window.
The Toffees held out and Palace eventually offered £20m for McNeil in a deal that was duly accepted at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
A move ultimately fell through, leaving McNeil in an awkward spot at Everton, especially after the signing of Tyrique George went through.
McNeil’s partner, Megan Sharpley, hit out at the Eagles for the situation, with her frustrations now being echoed from Merseyside.
Steve Parish slammed as Dwight McNeil deal collapses at Crystal Palace
Steve Parish seemingly went missing before a deal for McNeil fell through, as the Palace chairman played a role in the failed deadline day deal.
That saw a day’s work for the Everton winger go to waste, leaving him to return to L4 in limbo after David Moyes and Co. had told him he was free to go.
His partner’s social media post has been met by a mixed reception, but many have taken aim at the Selhurst Park club and questioned the morals behind leaving McNeil in the dark.
Former Everton scout Bryan King isn’t shocked by the goings on at Crystal Palace and has now shared his thoughts on Parish.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: “That’s the way Parish works.
“The way he’s been handling the transfer business since Dougie Freedman left, he thinks he can do better, but he can’t.
“I’ve got no time for him at all. Mateta failed his medical, so I would imagine his sale for that kind of money would have allowed them to bring in McNeil.
“This all typifies Parish for me, since Freedman left, there’s been chaos at the football club.”
Everton have to help McNeil settle down
McNeil has hardly been a key figure for the Toffees this season, so the idea of getting £20m for him was a surprise.
Obviously, that deal hasn’t worked, and he is now back on Merseyside, but the newfound fire in his belly could be exactly what Everton need.

If he can find his feet back in L4 for the rest of the season, a summer move could still be on the cards, but I doubt it will be to Crystal Palace.
The Eagles haven’t painted themselves in a good light, so dealings with them may be tentative, especially with McNeil.
The Blues just have to focus on the Englishman and welcome him back, and take away any awkwardness in a difficult situation.
