Carlos Alcaraz to seek immediate Everton exit after latest David Moyes admission
Carlos Alcaraz already seems to have lost his edge at Everton after completing a permanent move from Flamengo.
The Argentine national brought some freshness to the Toffees’ midfield after joining on loan in January 2025, but he’s struggled to make a case for himself this season.
Alcaraz hasn’t had the best campaign in the Premier League, starting just six games and averaging a Sofascore rating of 6.48.
Moyes has heavily relied on Harrison Armstrong in recent matches, and it looks like the English youngster will play a key role after his loan move to Preston North End was cut short.

David Moyes expects big things from Harrison Armstrong
Moyes has been highly impressed by Armstrong since his return to the Toffees this season.
The 19-year-old has started four Premier League games and has surely put himself in contention to play an important part in the Scottish manager’s plans at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
While there’s still a long way to go for the English youngster, the 62-year-old head coach is confident about the midfielder playing in the English top flight for the next several years.
Speaking to the media on 6 February, Moyes said, “I think his ability to fit in [has impressed the most]. I’ve always felt he’s got a lot of things going for him, and regarding his football, he’s quite clever. He’s got a long way to go. He’s at the start of a journey, which hopefully he’ll be a Premier League player for the next 10 to 15 years.”
Armstrong surely has a big future ahead of him at Hill Dickinson Stadium, and fans in L4 will certainly be keeping a close eye on his development.
The young midfielder has shown he’s ready to play regularly for the Blues, potentially ruling out any future loan moves.
Carlos Alcaraz future to become clear with new Everton contract decision
James Garner recently extended his Everton contract until 2030, securing his future in Merseyside.
Other players, such as Michael Keane and Idrissa Gueye, are set to become free agents at the end of the season, and it remains to be seen whether the Blues will extend their stays.

If the Senegal midfielder is offered another short-term deal, it will surely give Alcaraz plenty to think about his future, with game time already hard to come by in L4.
The 23-year-old Argentine is versatile, but Moyes seems to prefer different options in the middle of the park for now.
