Everton have new Jarrad Branthwaite exit fear after £60.7m transfer update

Jarrad Branthwaite has consistently been linked with an exit from Everton.

Between now and May, Everton‘s one and only focus will be on getting results, which is something they have struggled to do as of late.

Dating back to 6 December, the Toffees have won just three of their last 13 in all competitions, showcasing the lack of current form.

However, once this season has been all said and done, attention will again turn to the recruitment side of the year, with several exit decisions to be made.

And after the latest news from Man United, one of them may be in regard to Branthwaite.

Man United could make new swoop for Jarrad Branthwaite

Branthwaite has been linked with Man United in the past, but having suffered an injury back in August, those rumours died down.

The 23-year-old has recently returned to fitness, and in good timing, when taking into account Vitalii Mykolenko’s recent injury.

The Englishman’s return is a big boost for the Toffees, but it will also put him back in the shop window for potential suitors, with Man United likely to be one of them.

That is because Fichajes have reported that Real Madrid are eyeing a potential £60.7million deal to sign Leny Yoro, and as demonstrated by the below Sofascore graphic, Branthwaite is everything that Yoro is and more.

Given that the Frenchman is a left-sided defender, it would make sense for the Red Devils to target someone who can play the same role, and unfortunately for the Toffees, Branthwaite is perfect for that.

Everton have clear priorities for summer window

First and foremost, Everton need to sign another striker as early into the summer window as possible, but aside from that, there are several other areas that need to be bolstered, and their centre-back options are one of them.

Both James Tarkowski and Michael Keane have had excellent seasons in the Premier League, but with a combined age of 66, their best days are soon to be behind them.

And aside from Branthwaite, who could leave, and then Jake O’Brien, the Toffees are lacking options.

Everton had been loosely linked with Charlie Cresswell, and that is the type of succession signing that will need to be made if they are to be replaced in the near future.
