Everton player to realise England dream as Thomas Tuchel spotted at Craven Cottage

England manager Thomas Tuchel was in the stands as Everton beat Fulham 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday.

David Moyes got the better of Marco Silva at Craven Cottage on 7 February, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall leading the comeback.

The Toffees went 1-0 down at the break after an own goal from Vitalii Mykolenko, but they put increasing pressure on the Cottagers in the second half and got their rewards.

In the 75th minute, the former Chelsea ace beat Brend Leno, and a few moments later, the 27-year-old’s swinging corner forced an own goal from the German goalkeeper, but it was his compatriot who would’ve surely given the England manager some food for thought ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

James Garner continues magnificent Everton form vs Fulham

Moyes has brought out the best in James Garner this season, and the midfielder’s consistency was once again on show against Fulham.

It isn’t surprising to see Manchester United considering the 24-year-old’s return to Old Trafford after what he’s done for the Toffees this season.

The Englishman’s performances at the Hill Dickinson Stadium have been nothing short of exceptional on most occasions, and he once again took control of the midfield at Craven Cottage.

Garner’s Sofascore graphic shows just how important he was to help the Blues set up a comeback with his defensive and offensive contributions.

Having played the entire match, the midfielder recorded 89 per cent passing accuracy, created one big chance, had 11 defensive contributions and was threatening with his set-piece deliveries.

Garner will surely feel he has as much chance of making the plane for the tournament in Canada, Mexico and the USA as Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll realise his dreams.

Thomas Tuchel to surprise with Hill Dickinson Stadium contingent

Jordan Pickford has been a key player for England and will likely remain the first-choice goalkeeper at the 2026 World Cup.

There was talk of Jack Grealish working his way back into the Three Lions’ setup after shining at Everton, but the Manchester City loanee’s injury has surely hurt his chances.

While Garner will undoubtedly be on Tuchel’s radar, Michael Keane is also quietly going about his work at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season.

The English centre-back has been in top form for the Toffees, and could potentially be a surprise addition in the German manager’s plans.
