David Moyes’ brilliance at Everton raises serious TFG question after latest Premier League reveal
David Moyes can simply do no wrong for Everton at the moment.
The Toffees came away with three points after coming from behind to beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday, with Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s second-half showing key for the Blues.
Moyes has had to battle with several injury problems, but his side keeps finding a way to defy the odds.
Everton are hopeful of achieving European football at the end of this season, and the boss is a huge reason as to why that now looks possible.
David Moyes now has Everton overachieving in the Premier League
After Everton’s win over Fulham, the Toffees now find themselves eighth in the Premier League on 37 points, well on track to beat last season’s tally of 48.
Moyes has been praised for the work done, but it’s hard to put into words just how much adversity he’s had to deal with this season.
Everton were without Iliman Ndiaye and Idrissa Gana Gueye during a difficult winter period, as the pair were away with Senegal for the African Cup of Nations.
- Ndiaye and Gana Gueye missed seven games for the Toffees
- During this period, Everton won just two times in all competitions
Then, as Ndiaye returned, Moyes was dealt a hammer blow with Jack Grealish now sidelined for several months. But the Toffees boss has motivated his side to keep going and weather the storm.

The Blues’ away form has been key to their success this season, but the whole picture could have looked even better had the Friedkin Group invested in the winter market.
Why did the Friedkin Group not invest more in the winter window?
Everton signed Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea on deadline day, which acted as the only signing that the Friedkin Group got over the line for the Toffees.
Moyes was desperate for a striker, and although Everton had a long list of targets, they never really showed ambition to land one.

Moyes has shown that if he landed further key targets in the winter window, he could have had Everton’s wish for European football wrapped up come the end of this campaign.
They may have gotten away with one this window, but should the Friedkin Group show a lack of backing once more in the summer, Moyes could start asking real questions about the club’s ambition.
