David Moyes to call upon outcast at Everton to support European push – ‘Don’t be surprised’
David Moyes could still pull off an unexpected move as Everton continue their challenge for European football next season.
Everton beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage on Saturday afternoon, a result which moves them up to eighth in the Premier League.
Vitalii Mykolenko’s own goal gave the hosts the lead, but Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised for the Toffees with the left-back grabbing the assists to make up for his earlier mishap.
David Moyes’ side completed their comeback when Bernd Leno punched Dewsbury-Hall’s corner into his own net with less than 10 minutes remaining.
David Moyes to bring Dwight McNeil back in
Dwight McNeil looked all set to leave Everton on deadline day of the winter transfer window and complete a switch to Crystal Palace.
However, the deal broke down at the last moment, meaning that the winger had to return to Merseyside.
According to The Athletic, McNeil is a popular figure at Hill Dickinson Stadium and will be reintegrated into the squad.
Journalist Patrick Boyland has warned Everton fans “not to be surprised” if Moyes gives the winger more opportunities between now and the end of the season.
McNeil has started just seven Premier League games this term, but could still play a part in the Toffees’ push for a European place.

Moyes likes experience, and has opted for the former Burnley man over the likes of Tyler Dibling at times this season.
How can Dwight McNeil help Everton?
McNeil has struggled to perform for Everton in recent times, and is clearly lacking form and confidence, two qualities that are vital for a winger.
However, he has shown in the past that he has the ability to make a difference, and has 33 goal contributions to his name for the Toffees since he joined in 2022.

McNeil was not in the squad as Everton beat Fulham at Craven Cottage, but he could well return for the visit of Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.
In his first campaign at the club, under Sean Dyche, McNeil scored seven goals and picked up three assists in the Premier League.
He will hope to recover that type of form if he is given another chance by Moyes.
