David Moyes puts Frank Lampard and Sean Dyche to shame in latest Everton reveal

David Moyes is leading Everton through a very solid run of form in the Premier League.

The Toffees are unbeaten in their last five top-flight games, and have now moved up to eighth in the table, just two points behind Liverpool in sixth.

Everton beat Fulham 2-1 on Saturday afternoon, despite going a goal down inside the opening 20 minutes at Craven Cottage.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall equalised before his corner was punched into his own net by Bernd Leno, handing Moyes’ side all three points.

David Moyes miles ahead of Sean Dyche and Frank Lampard

With their win over Fulham, Everton have now picked up 37 points in the Premier League this season, from just 25 games.

It is the earliest stage at which the Toffees have reached that total since the 2020-21 season, under the guidance of Carlo Ancelotti.

In the last five years, no manager has taken Everton to the 37-point mark before April.

Under Frank Lampard in 2021-22, the Merseyside outfit didn’t hit that tally until May 19, their penultimate game of the season.

Sean Dyche didn’t fare much better during his time in charge, albeit the now Nottingham Forest manager was hamstrung with profit and sustainability rules issues throughout his tenure.

Moyes clearly has the Toffees in a much better place than either of the two previous managers, and they are now in a position to launch a realistic European push.

Can Everton achieve European football?

This season, the top five in the Premier League should all achieve Champions League football, which would see the European spots go down to eighth place.

Moyes’ side currently sit in that position, and while fifth-placed Chelsea are six points clear, sixth-placed Liverpool remain just two points ahead.

Prem table Everton

Given the quality of the Premier League this season, and the underperformance of Tottenham and Newcastle United, among others, Everton now have a real chance of European football.

However, to have any chance of reaching the Europa League or Conference League, the Merseyside outfit will need to step up for the remainder of the campaign.

If Everton can find some form at some point over the next 13 matches, there is no reason why they can’t reach Europe for the first time in nine years.

It simply puts the likes of Dyche and Lampard to shame.
