Everton eye new Liam Delap summer swoop amid Chelsea exit twist
Everton could end their striker search by signing Liam Delap from Chelsea.
The Toffees wanted a new number nine in January, but Everton failed to land the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Youssef En-Nesyri.
The winter window ended with exit-linked Beto remaining at Everton, and he has already proven his worth with his late strike away to Brighton.
Theirno Barry has also found the net for Everton and shown what sort of player he can be, but that won’t stop David Moyes from going back to the market in the summer.
That could spark a move for Delap should he choose to bring his Chelsea nightmare to an end once the window opens.
Liam Delap attracting summer interest at Everton
Delap was linked to Everton before joining Chelsea, and it feels as if the striker may now regret his decision to join the Blues.
The Englishman signed at Stamford Bridge for £30million from Ipswich Town and was instantly involved at the FIFA Club World Cup.
He looked good at the summer tournament, but things haven’t got any better in the following weeks and months as the number nine has scored just one Premier League goal.

That could soon see Liam Rosenior’s side cash in on their summer signing, especially if he doesn’t improve before the end of the campaign.
Frank Khalid reported on Monday that Everton are considering a move for Delap in the next window, with the forward said to be “fighting for his future” at Chelsea.
That could point towards a summer exit being in the pipeline, with the 23-year-old potentially set to be available before the new season kicks off.
The Toffees could face competition from Newcastle and Manchester United, with the latter showing interest before the striker joined the Blues.
Chelsea could agree cut-price exit for Delap
Things just haven’t worked out for the ex-Manchester City youngster at Stamford Bridge under Rosenior or Enzo Maresca this campaign.
Delap just isn’t able to do the things he thrived at with Ipswich Town, but that is largely due to the massive change in playing style.
With the Tractor Boys, he was able to press hard, chase down lost causes to forge chances for himself and not think when it came to getting shots away.
Now the Englishman is arguably overthinking and missing chances that he may have scored 12 months ago with a side that was eventually relegated.
That could see his style better suit Everton and a deal could be available for a fair bit less than his £30m summer fee.
