Everton given pathway to seal Jack Grealish transfer after £34.7m Manchester City update
Everton could sign Jack Grealish from Manchester City for less than they would have imagined this summer.
The winger has been ruled out until at least April, and the Toffees will now have to pay part of his wages until the expiry of his loan deal.
Everton won’t pay the £50million buy clause in Grealish’s contract, and as things stand, keeping the Englishman on Merseyside beyond this campaign looks to be a financial problem.
Despite Grealish‘s big injury setback, David Moyes would still be keen on signing the forward permanently in the summer.
The Toffees now look to have been given a major boost in their pursuit of Manchester City‘s underused star.

Everton can strike swap deal for Jack Grealish after latest on Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Man City are interested in signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall this summer, with the reported figure around £34.7million before add-ons.
While that fee on its own would not be enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to land the Englishman, if his desire is there to make the switch to the Etihad Stadium, both sides have an obvious pathway to make a deal happen.
That includes Grealish.
- Dewsbury-Hall has seven goal contributions in 18 league games for the Toffees
- Everton signed him on a five-year contract last summer
- The Blues paid £25million for his signature
Grealish doesn’t have long left on his contract with City, and his injury will also have decreased his market value, meaning he should be available for an amount much less than £50m to clubs this summer.
If Dewsbury-Hall were to force Everton‘s hand in selling him to Man City in the summer, then a swap deal is clearly the transfer for both sides to make.
Given the fact that the Toffees shouldn’t consider selling Dewsbury-Hall for anything less than £50m themselves, they could try to tempt City into a Grealish plus £15million swap for their key man.

Who is of more importance to Everton: Grealish or Dewsbury-Hall?
Dewsbury-Hall has shown his class for Everton recently, and Moyes is hoping for the 27-year-old to step up in the absence of Grealish.
However, the question of whether he’s more important than Grealish is a difficult debate.
As seen in the Sofascore graphic below, Grealish has been a constant problem for the opposition in an Everton shirt, completing 40 per cent of his dribbles and racking up eight goal involvements in 22 games.

However, Dewsbury-Hall is currently averaging 7.24 for his performances in the Premier League, which is higher than Grealish’s rating of 7.19, albeit not by much.
It’s fair to say that both are equally as crucial as each other, and in an ideal world, they would be playing for the Toffees together, beyond this season.
But football doesn’t always work the way you want it to, and a swap deal may end up as the best possible outcome, should Dewsbury-Hall want to move.
