Darren Bent warns Andy Goldstein over latest Everton claim – ‘Be careful’
Everton are on course for European qualification this season.
David Moyes has done a remarkable job at Hill Dickinson Stadium, putting the Blues in a position where they could genuinely achieve their ambitions.
The Toffees are eighth in the Premier League table after the 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth on 10 February.
That has led to even more scrutiny of the Merseysiders in the national media, but not all of the coverage is positive.

What did Goldstein say about Everton?
It is not an understatement to say that Everton have been disappointing in recent years, but they look to be on the right track at the moment under the Friedkin Group.
Andy Goldstein was talking about the Blues’ status as sleeping giants, but Darren Bent warned him that Tony Bellew may be listening to his claims.
Speaking on talkSPORT on 10 February, he said: “I think for a club in the Premier League with longevity, Everton are probably the biggest underachieving sleeping giants we have.”
Bent reminded him about provoking Bellew, saying: “Be careful when you say that, you know who could be listening.”
Goldstein replied, saying: “Tony Bellew would agree with me, I am saying they are a massive club, and they have been underachieving.”
Tony Bellew vs Goldstein explained
Bellew absolutely loves Everton, and he does not react kindly when the talkSPORT hosts mocks his beloved club live on air.
The famous former boxer interrupted Goldstein during his Soccer Aid livestream in 2024, and playfully confronted the Manchester United supporter before he could move the show to a break.
He said: “On the radio, he’s been giving it the biggun… he keeps going on how I should answer the phone when I’m with the wife and kids.
“Well, when I am in the car with the wife and kids, I do answer the phon,e and it’s usually to some small little weak imbecile called Goldstein.
“And now that I’ve got close to him it’s funny. I expected him to be brave but he’s just swallowed it.”
The Toffees supporter then phoned into the radio station when Goldstein and Bent were discussing whether the Blues were a big club earlier this year, and had another confrontation with him.
Bellew said: “Let’s be straight and honest now, let’s stop messing around. You two clowns said Everton were a small club.”
Ultimately, the fighter will probably agree with the latest claim, so Goldstein will likely be spared of his wrath once again, which will be a huge relief.
His beloved side should be challenging for honours, but they have not been where they wanted to be recently; that simply cannot be denied, even if Bellew does not particularly like the radio host and his views on the club.
Moyes has turned around their fortunes lately though, and hopefully, Bellew will be able to brag to Goldstein about a trophy win in the near future.
The future looks bright for the L4 club, and maybe Goldstein will not be able to fire shots for Bellew to bite back on, if their current trajectory continues under the Scotsman.
