David Moyes to feel the heat at Everton after Thomas Frank sack

Thomas Frank’s Tottenham sacking may have implications for Everton boss David Moyes.

Moyes has led the Blues to eighth place in the Premier League, which, on the face of it, is a brilliant achievement with just 12 matches left to play.

The Scotsman’s position at Hill Dickinson Stadium is not immediately under threat, but concerns may well be bubbling under the surface.

The Friedkin Group could decide that they want to go in a different direction, especially with Frank now being available after he was sacked on 11 February.

Why will David Moyes be feeling under pressure?

While supporters must be happy about Everton sitting where they are in the top-flight, not everything is as rosy as it seems.

The Toffees have been particularly poor in front of their own fans, with just four wins in their matches at their new stadium.

The fact that 21 of the Toffees’ 37 points have come on the road is a worry for the boss, and their home form does not improve it could ultimately see them miss out on European qualification.

Why Thomas Frank could be the perfect man for Everton

Ultimately, the extent of the blame Frank deserves for Spurs’ miserable season is debatable.

He walked into a team that finished 17th last season, and there were significant changes behind the scenes, which cannot have helped him to turn that club around.

The Merseysiders are in a much more comfortable position under the ownership of the Friedkin Group, and the Dane would likely thrive in the new environment, rather than having to deal with the chaos in North London.

Frank took Brentford to a 13th-place finish in their first season in the Premier League, then secured ninth position, 16th, then a 10th-place, in a remarkable reign in West London.

Overall, he won 54 of the 152 top-flight matches in charge of the Bees, a brilliant record, that proves that he can exceed expectations and take clubs beyond their ceiling.

He should not be judged on his time at Spurs, as he was walking into an extremely difficult situation, and he has proven himself as the kind of manager that the Blues need if Moyes was dismissed.

His ability to take a club beyond where they are supposed to be, could be perfect for the L4 outfit in the near future.
