Adam Aznou’s Everton exit is now nailed on, but where could he go?

Adam Aznou’s immediate future is certainly away from Everton.

David Moyes has made it clear this season as to which players he likes and which players he simply doesn’t fancy, and unfortunately for Aznou, he’s certainly on the list for the latter.

His only appearance of the season came in Everton’s FA Cup defeat to Sunderland, where the teenager was brought on as a substitute before winning the penalty that got the Toffees back into the game.

Many expected the left-back to get an extended run in the team off the back of that showing, but he hasn’t been afforded a minute since then.

Aznou looks certain to leave Everton in the summer, but the Blues need to decide on what would be the best move for his development.

Would Everton sanction a permanent exit for Adam Aznou?

Given how much quality he showcased in such little time against Sunderland, it’s clear that there is a player in there, just not one that has convinced Moyes quite enough yet since his arrival in the summer.

But based on that one individual performance alone, Everton have more than enough to use as a reason against selling him, with a loan exit the most likely.

The 19-year-old needs to be playing regularly to realise his true potential, but also needs to be playing at a decent enough level to ensure that he can develop the physical side of his game, which Moyes has already claimed as a weakness.

There’s a reason Bayern Munich kept Aznou around for so long, and even more of a reason that he was handed three senior appearances at such a young age.

And with the right move in the summer transfer window, that will come clear, and there is one destination that would perhaps suit him more than the rest.

Where is Aznou likely to develop more?

Given the fact that Everton will want to see him succeed in the Premier League, a move elsewhere in England would make the most sense, either to the Championship or the top end of League One.

However, with Moyes concerned about the physical side of his game, that will perhaps make it a realistic move.

But having spent time in LaLiga with Real Valladolid, a move back to Spain could be the perfect location for him to get back to his best.

Aznou made 13 senior appearances there last season, with 10 starts for the Spanish club.

His knowledge of the league would help him settle quicker and ensure that he can focus on his game and leave everything else at the back of his mind.
