Shea Pita gives David Moyes something to think about as new Everton footage emerges

Everton boss David Moyes may have Shea Pita on his radar sooner rather than later.

The Scotsman has had issues all season with misfiring forwards, with the likes of Thierno Barry and Beto struggling to find the back of the net in the Premier League.

However, Pita showed no such issue as the Blues Under-18s took on Ipswich Town in the FA Youth Cup at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

He put the young Toffees into the lead just four minutes in the contest, and they ultimately won 4-2 after extra-time.

What was so impressive about Pita strike for Everton?

Pita is making waves at Finch Farm, and that continued in the cup clash, at the first-team’s stadium.

Footage released on Everton Academy’s X account on 12 February showed the strike from the Welsh youngster.

He took a brilliant touch from Rocco Lambert’s pass and fired past the Tractor Boys’ goalkeeper with a finish that Moyes’ side have been lacking so far this season.

Who is Everton youngster Shea Pita?

Pita is a 16-year-old left winger, who joined the Blues’ youth ranks in 2017 after starring for Llandudno FC’s academy.

He made his debut after signing for the Under-18s in 2024 as a late substitute against Nottingham Forest, and has racked up 18 appearances for Keith Southern’s side.

He has scored two times and notched three assists at that level, and also has one goal and one assist in four matches for the Under-21 side, which is not bad by any means.

Pita’s stats for Everton’s youth teams.

Pita has five caps for the Welsh Under-15 team, and eight for the Under-17 side at national level, with two goals at that level for his country.

Moyes will surely be keeping a close eye on his progress, especially after his most recent exploits for the youth side.

Obviously, it will likely be a while before he is handed a senior berth, as the manager does not tend to throw young talents in at the deep end, as he has proven with Tyler Dibling and Adam Aznou, but he is one to watch over the next few years.

If he continues to finish the way he did against Ipswich, he will make his way into the first-team plans eventually; there is no doubt about that.
