Everton to have newfound appreciation for Michael Keane after Marcos Senesi snub
Michael Keane has been a loyal servant for Everton and has provided David Moyes with reliability this season.
Fans at Hill Dickinson Stadium have surely got newfound appreciation for the English defender after his performances this season.
The 33-year-old has cemented his place alongside James Tarkowski in the starting lineup, and even with Jarrad Branthwaite returning from injury, a change in the Toffees’ defensive partnership shouldn’t be on the cards.
With the defender’s current contract expiring at the end of the campaign after extending it for another year last summer, maybe it’s time the Merseyside outfit showed him a bit more respect.

Everton will turn to Michael Keane after Marcos Senesi deal fails
Bournemouth defender Marcos Senesi is wanted by Moyes, but the Toffees face tough competition for his signature.
Juventus, Manchester United, Tottenham and Barcelona are said to have interest in the Argentine centre-back, and the Blues’ hierarchy will surely have to pull off a coup to get a deal over the line for him at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
It’s likely that Senesi, who will be a free agent soon, will snub a move to the Merseyside outfit in favour of a top Champions League outfit.
As things stand, Moyes doesn’t possess a lot of squad depth, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Toffees offer Keane a new contract.
| Competition | Appearances | Goals | Minutes played |
| Premier League | 22 | 3 | 1859 |
| FA Cup | 2 | 0 | 180 |
Considering the English centre-back’s displays in the current campaign, the Blues should’ve already secured his future in L4.
It feels like The Friedkin Group are biding their time to see what options they have in the summer before extending the veteran defender’s stay, but the Bournemouth star’s potential snub will undoubtedly give them impetus to do so and recognise his value.
David Moyes has two more contract priorities at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Seamus Coleman is in the final year of his contract at the Toffees, but the 37-year-old’s playing career seems to be coming to an end, especially due to his consistent fitness struggles.
However, Idrissa Gueye certainly still has a lot to offer at Everton despite his age, with the 36-year-old midfielder still a key player for Moyes.
Along with the Senegal international, the Blues should accelerate new contract talks with Vitalii Mykolenko.
Gueye and the left-back will be free agents at the end of the season, and the Merseyside outfit can’t let two pivotal assets for the Scottish manager leave unless TFG have plans to heavily invest in the squad.
