Everton fans will love what Yuka Momiki did after Women’s third win in a row

Yuka Momiki played a huge part in Everton Women’s 1-0 victory over West Ham on Sunday.

Scott Phelan‘s side secured a third win in a row, to move up to eighth in the Women’s Super League table on 15 February.

Honoka Hayashi scored the only goal of the contest at Goodison Park as the Blues continued their impressive run of form.

However, Momiki stood out on and off the pitch, with a significant gesture after the full-time whistle, which supporters will love.

What did Momiki do after Everton win over West Ham

Momiki signed for the Toffees from Leicester in the summer, and she has already endeared herself to the fanbase.

Colin Stokes revealed on X after the contest that Momiki stayed out and allowed every child to get a picture and hold her player of the match trophy.

The gesture will only place the 47-cap Japan ace in a higher standing with her newest set of supporters, as it goes above and beyond the usual call of duty.

How is Momiki performing for Everton so far?

The Blues’ season has been disappointing, but Momiki has been one of their most promising players in a miserable campaign.

She has made 16 appearances, with 11 starts, scoring one goal and one assist in those matches, per Sofascore.

The Japanese star has created three big chances for her teammates, making 0.6 key passes per game so far this season.

She thrives in defence, as the 29-year-old makes 1.2 tackles, 3.2 ball recoveries, 0.7 interceptions, and 0.9 clearances per game.

In terms of duels won, she wins 51 per cent on the ground and 50 per cent in the air, the latter is a solid return for a player who is 5’0ft tall.

Momiki looks like a brilliant signing, and hopefully, the Blues supporters can see her in action for years to come, and try and move up the table to challenge the WSL elite with her as a key part of that.

She has formed a relationship with the fanbase, and that will continue to thrive, the longer that she is performing for the Merseysiders, and doing gestures like the one after the win over the Hammers will only increase the feel-good factor.
