Everton one to watch as Liam Delap permanent Chelsea exit on cards
Chelsea could be open to sending Everton target Liam Delap on loan in the summer transfer window.
CaughtOffside journalist Mark Brus has been told that the English striker may not have long left at Stamford Bridge after his struggles this season.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise if the London club consider a permanent exit for the 23-year-old, who has scored one Premier League goal this season.
The Merseyside outfit are one of the teams being linked with the centre-forward, with Manchester United, Newcastle United, Brighton & Hove Albion and Sunderland also keeping an eye on his situation.

Liam Delap has no future at Chelsea amid Everton interest
There haven’t been any contacts between potential suitors and Delap yet, but the Toffees are one to watch, according to CaughtOffside.
The news outlet reports on 18 February that while a loan exit is more likely for the former Ipswich Town star, a permanent transfer can’t be ruled out amid interest from Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Delap was wanted by David Moyes last summer, but the forward ended up joining Chelsea, which may have been a step too far for the attacker at this stage of his career.
Speaking to Brus, one source in the industry said, “Delap might not have much longer at Chelsea. It’s clear that he’s struggled, and they’ll be open to a loan this summer — that could be with an option or obligation to buy, but don’t be surprised if they’re open to permanent offers straight away.”

Another source told the journalist, “I’d be surprised if Delap was still at Chelsea next season. I’m hearing that several clubs are already informed and considering their next steps.”
Delap has struggled for regular game time at Stamford Bridge as he competes for minutes with Joao Pedro, and it would make sense for the Englishman to look for pastures new in the summer to further his development.
Friedkin Group risk Hill Dickinson Stadium fury after transfer development
Moyes was handed just one signing in the winter transfer window, with Tyrique George arriving on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season, with the deal including an option to buy him.
The Scottish manager would’ve surely liked a bit more backing in January, with Everton clearly struggling for squad depth.
It feels like The Friedkin Group were saving funds to make a significant investment in the summer, and if American owners don’t do so, they risk fan fury at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The Merseyside outfit are clearly in need of another option in the number nine position, but it remains to be seen what the future holds for Delap.
