Michael Carrick already knows exactly what to expect at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Michael Carrick is expecting an intense atmosphere at Hill Dickinson Stadium when Manchester United face Everton on Monday night.

United are enjoying their best form of the campaign, coinciding with caretaker boss Carrick replacing Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have gone five games without defeat in the Premier League, winning four of those prior to a 1-1 draw against West Ham last time out.

Everton have endured a mixed time of things of late, meanwhile, with a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth putting a slight dampener on things.

But Carrick is fully aware of what can be expected from Man United’s first trip to Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday.

What has Michael Carrick said about Man United’s trip to Everton?

Hill Dickinson Stadium will look better than ever against Man United as a brilliant display is planned ahead of kickoff.

Speaking to United’s official website, Carrick said he expects an intense atmosphere when his side visit Merseyside and added: “That’s what we’re in football at this level for – the more the better really.

“Those are the atmospheres you want to test yourself in and be part of. It shows that it means something when you’re in that environment so we’re looking forward to it.

“We’ve got to be ready for the game for what that’s going to bring but, all in all, a Monday-night game, Everton away, it will be a good night.”

Carrick added that he has yet to personally visit Hill Dickinson, although he did of course have many trips to Everton’s former Goodison Park home.

And the Englishman also played 25 times under David Moyes during the 2013-14 campaign.

What display is planned ahead of Everton’s clash with Man United?

Fan group The 1878s have put a lot of effort in to ensure Hill Dickinson looks at its absolute best on Monday night.

The biggest single stand flag display to date can be expected against United, with over 400 flags on display in the south stand upper and lower.

Fans have been asked to partake in the display by waving the flags, or passing them on to someone who wants to get involved if not.

And supporters are also asked to leave the flags behind after the game so that they can be used again in future.

Those going along will no doubt play their part in what will hopefully be a famous night under the Hill Dickinson lights.

Everton’s record at their new home has been underwhelming so far, but this will hopefully now act as a turning point.
