Jack Grealish sends quick message as Everton loanee reacts to new surgery

Jack Grealish has wished Oleksandr Zinchenko well after his former Manchester City teammate underwent successful surgery.

Grealish also recently went under the knife after a foot problem basically ruled him out for the rest of the season at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Despite a positive season on loan from Man City, questions have emerged about whether the winger has already played his final game for Everton.

David Moyes was coy about the situation, but answers will be needed soon.

Oleksandr Zinchenko joins Jack Grealish on surgery table

After a horrible loan spell at Nottingham Forest earlier in the season, Zinchenko joined Ajax from Arsenal in the winter transfer window.

The Ukrainian moved to the Netherlands permanently, but it was a horror start for the defender.

Just two minutes into his home debut last week, Zinchenko suffered an awful injury to his knee and was left visibly distraught at the outcome.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, the former City man confirmed he had undergone surgery, admitting that tough times are ahead in recovery.

Grealish was quick to respond in the comments, sharing a blue heart and a praying emoji for his former teammate from the Etihad.

Oleksandr Zinchenko could have joined Everton

Back in 2022, Everton made a surprise inquiry to sign Zinchenko, who was at Manchester City.

Chelsea and West Ham also made their moves, but the Ukraine international decided to move to Arsenal instead after winning most of what you can in football.

Valued at £35million at the time, it’s probably a good thing that Everton didn’t spend that, given their well-documented financial issues during that period.

Farhad Moshiri was behind those with years of ill-spending, and that would have continued if Zinchenko had arrived in Merseyside too.

With the Friedkin Group now in charge, a new stadium and tidier balance sheets, Everton have been able to pull off moves like the one for Grealish.

After initially being quoted £50m to make his move permanent this summer, that has slowly come down to the point where it is basically slashed in half.

Everton have faced several quiet years with their spending after being docked points, but they are now in a position to make more powerful moves in the market.

Hopefully, that starts with Grealish.
