David Moyes looks set for Everton future talks, brutal reality of Premier League could force TFG’s hand
David Moyes’ position at Everton cannot be considered stable.
Everton remain in the conversation for European football next season, and with 11 games left of the season, they sit just one point away from a potential qualification spot.
Taking that into account, at least on paper, it would be deemed harsh by many to even consider whether Moyes has a future with the Toffees.
However, the Premier League is constantly changing and evolving, and for Moyes, that may not be a good thing, and recent form certainly won’t help his case.

Everton are going backwards under David Moyes
With 37 points from 27 games this season, Everton are actually five points better off than they were at the same stage in the previous campaign.
But the main concerns are still there, and the Toffees have shown no signs of addressing them.
Only Sunderland, Wolves and Nottingham Forest have scored fewer goals than Everton this season, and while a lot of that is down to the lack of a goalscorer, Moyes’ style of play is also massively restricting their threat.
That’s demonstrated by the fact that they average only seven passages of play per game where they complete 10 or more passes, which is the worst in the Premier League.
Based on xG, Everton sit 15th in the Premier League, showcasing that they aren’t even creating the chances needed to achieve a top-eight finish.

That is only made worse by Moyes’ decision to utilise Harrison Armstrong out wide, despite the availability of Tyrique Gerorge in particular.
But not only is Everton’s way of playing not getting results currently, but it’s also a sore sight for the eyes at Hill Dickinson, where they have already lost more this season than they did at home throughout the entirety of the previous campaign.
Is Moyes at risk of the sack at Everton?
Between now and the end of the season, the answer to that is no.
However, if the Toffees fail to secure qualification for Europe, then there will almost certainly be talks regarding his future in the summer.
Everton have shown very little sign of progression under the Scotsman this season, and when clubs fail to act on that, things tend to only get worse.
The Toffees have won just three of their last 13 games across all competitions, and if that lack of form continues, then we could see a change made this summer.
