David Moyes must take blame as Everton’s home woes evidenced by worrying stat
Everton’s home record in the Premier League is already worse than last season following their 1-0 defeat to Manchester United.
Benjamin Sesko scored the only goal of the game at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night, as David Moyes’ side continued to struggle on Merseyside.
It was a drab affair decided by a moment of real quality, as the Red Devils swept from back to front in less than 10 seconds with Sesko adding the finishing touch to the counter-attack.
At the other end, the Toffees failed to find a way past Senne Lammes in the Man United goal, falling to their second consecutive defeat in the top-flight.
Everton’s Hill Dickinson worries continue
Following their move from Goodison Park to Hill Dickinson Stadium in the summer, there was a lot of enthusiasm around Everton.
Moyes’ side got off to a superb start in the new state-of-the-art ground as well, winning three of their first five games at home this season and going unbeaten in that period as well.
However, their fortunes have turned in recent months, and it is now becoming something of a problem.
As per EFC Statto on X, Everton have now lost six home games in the Premier League this season, with two of those defeats coming within the last fortnight.
To make matters worse, that is already more top-flight home losses than they suffered across the entirety of last season, while they were still at Goodison Park.
David Moyes must take responsibility
Everton fans were always wary of Moyes‘ return to Merseyside, as they felt his ceiling was low compared to other options.
The Scot is doing a more than satisfactory job this season, and still has the Toffees sitting ninth in the Premier League, but clear issues are emerging.

Everton’s home form has been troubling for some time now, and they have failed to win at Hill Dickinson since the start of December, almost three months ago.
As much as Moyes can take credit for propelling his side into a European race, he has to shoulder much of the responsibility for their current struggles at home.
If the problem is not addressed quickly, then there is no doubt that Everton will start to slide down the Premier League table, all while European football is there for the taking.
