Jack Grealish won’t be happy after Everton message he sent vs Man United
Jack Grealish will feel helpless as he continues to watch Everton from home during his injury layoff.
The Manchester City loanee saw his season come to an end last month after undergoing surgery on a foot stress fracture following Everton’s win against his former club, Aston Villa.
The attacker has been a big miss for David Moyes throughout February, with the Toffees winning just once since his absence was confirmed.
Grealish has scored twice and registered six assists in the Premier League since making the loan switch, and faces an uncertain future, with a potential permanent move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium up in the air as a result of his absence.
Everton fell to a 1-0 defeat against Manchester United on Monday, leaving Moyes’ side ninth in the standings, and Grealish won’t be happy after a message he posted during proceedings.
Jack Grealish posts message of support for Everton colleagues
The Toffees went into Monday’s clash against Michael Carrick’s side looking to make amends after a 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth last time out.
They are well and truly in the race for European football, but recent inconsistencies have raised doubts, especially given the fact that Everton are winless on home soil since their 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest on 6 December.
Watching from home, Grealish took to his Instagram stories, sending a four-word message of support for his colleagues: “Come on my brothers.”
Grealish has been sidelined for over a month and is unlikely to put on an Everton shirt again this season as he continues to recover.
Moyes’ side face another difficult test next as they travel to Newcastle for a clash that could hugely impact the European ambitions of both sides, before they welcome Burnley to Merseyside on 3 March.
Jack Grealish absence has been huge for Everton
Losing a player once valued at £100million would impact any side across the division, and that has most certainly been the case for Everton.
While Grealish’s form did dip over the festive period, the impact of his loss is still felt.

A player with mercurial talents, at his worst, there aren’t many able to retain possession and drag a team out of danger at the level of Grealish.
Bringing much more to the table than just goals and assists, the 30-year-old was at the heart of everything in the final third for the Toffees during the early months of his stint – perfectly contrasting the abilities of Iliman Ndiaye on the opposite flank.
He may not carry the same reputation from his Aston Villa days, but Grealish is a player now experienced at the top level, and someone who could have made a huge difference in the ongoing European race.
From now until the end of the season, Toffees fans will be keeping a close eye on developments regarding a potential permanent switch.
