‘I played for England, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is knocking Thomas Tuchel’s door after Everton win vs Burnley’
Martin Keown believes Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is in contention to make his England debut after Everton beat Burnley in the Premier League on Tuesday.
The Englishman scored the Toffees’ second goal in the 2-0 win over the Clarets at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 3 March as David Moyes got the better of Scott Parker.
Apart from the midfielder getting himself on the scoresheet, he was pivotal in helping the Merseyside outfit control the game in L4.
Keown, who managed to earn 43 caps for the Three Lions during his playing career, thinks the former Chelsea ace is knocking on Thomas Tuchel’s door for a call-up after his heroics for the Blues.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has resurgence after Everton transfer
Dewsbury-Hall was an up-and-coming star at Leicester City before moving to Chelsea after the end of the 2023-24 season.
The 27-year-old struggled for game time at Stamford Bridge, with the Toffees subsequently taking a chance on him last summer.
Along with Jack Grealish and Iliman Ndiaye, the midfielder has arguably been one of the best players for the Merseyside outfit in the current campaign.
Dewsbury-Hall once again showed his magnificence under Moyes as he scored in his second consecutive Premier League game.
Speaking on TNT Sports 3 on 3 March, Keown said, “Well, there is [a lot of competition], but he’s certainly knocking on the door.”
Tuchel has some impressive midfield options to choose from, including James Garner, and it remains to be seen who makes the England squad for the 2026 World Cup.
One Hill Dickinson Stadium hero a dark horse for England call-up
James Tarkowski has once again been solid for Everton this season, putting in consistent performances under Moyes.
Tuchel has some quality centre-backs in his England ranks, but the likes of John Stones have been out injured for most of the season.

Tarkowski may be a dark horse to get into the Three Lions’ squad for the 2026 World Cup after managing his 10th clean sheet of the Premier League campaign.
The 33-year-old English defender still clearly has a lot to offer for club and country, and Tuchel should take that into account.
