David Moyes has relied on Beto to lead the line in recent weeks ahead of Thierno Barry, with both number nines inconsistent for the Blues this season.

The Friedkin Group’s investment at Hill Dickinson Stadium should continue in the summer, and the Merseyside outfit already know what they need before the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Everton should sign at least one striker in the summer

Beto and Barry have 10 Premier League goals between them for the Toffees this season.

The Blues lost Dominic Calvert-Lewin last summer and ended up replacing him with the former Villarreal star.

Moyes arguably needs more options up front, with the French youngster and the former Udinese attacker his only two natural options for the number nine position.

Writing in Everton.News on 16 March, Alan Myers said, “I’m not going to sit here and criticise the two main strikers, both are committed to the cause, both give their all but it’s clear they’ve not done enough in front of goal this season with regards to goals return.”

The journalist added, “For various reasons, the club needed at least one different option, which it doesn’t have. This must be in the top three priorities for the recruitment team and one hopes that work has already begun.”

TFG may have missed a trick by not reinforcing the Scottish manager’s attacking options beyond the addition of Tyrique George on loan from Chelsea in the winter transfer window, which could hinder the Merseyside outfit’s hopes of qualifying for Europe.

David Moyes can have perfect striker at Hill Dickinson Stadium

Moyes is a big fan of Liam Delap and wanted the Englishman to be part of the Toffees’ new era at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

The former Ipswich Town striker eventually joined Chelsea last summer, but he’s struggled for regular minutes at Stamford Bridge.

Everton should make an approach at the end of the season to gauge Delap’s appetite for a switch to L4.

The Scottish manager is in need of a new robust number nine and the 23-year-old certainly fits that bill.
