Tyler Dibling’s Everton future clear after David Moyes snub vs Arsenal

Tyler Dibling’s miserable first season at Everton continued in the 2-0 loss to Arsenal on Saturday.

Dibling was signed for around £35million in the summer, but he has made just 18 appearances in all competitions, with no goal contributions.

The ex-Southampton man has played a total of 520 minutes, and was snubbed by David Moyes for the Gunners clash at the Emirates Stadium on 14 March.

Everton needed a goal late on, but the 20-year-old remained on the substitutes bench, not brought on by his manager, and surely an exit is best for all parties.

What is the solution for Everton and Tyler Dibling?

Everton could send Dibling on loan next season, so that he can get the gametime that he needs to develop and become the player that they hope he can.

It would allow him to thrive without the pressure that comes with playing for the Blues on a weekly basis, while impressing the Scotsman.

Clearly, Moyes does not trust him right now, so a temporary departure seems to be the obvious solution for everybody involved.

Where has it gone wrong for Dibling so far?

Moyes is typically unwilling to throw youngsters in at the deep end and give them opportunities in the Premier League straight away, and that has been the case with the England Under-21 ace.

However, Dibling already had a campaign in the top-flight under his belt for the Saints, so the fact that he has not had many chances is baffling.

The £35m man has not impressed when he has had chances, though, starting consecutive league matches against Burnley and Nottingham Forest in December.

He failed to score or assist in those matches against the relegation strugglers, and also came up short when he started in the FA Cup third-round clash with Sunderland, when the Blues went out on penalties.

He has featured for a total of 88 minutes in Carabao Cup games against Mansfield Town and Wolves and did nothing in those appearances either.

So far, it is a lack of trust from the manager and his poor performances when he has been given a chance, that have hampered the youngster.

A loan exit would allow him to put himself in Moyes’ plans by performing elsewhere with less expectation and pressure on his shoulders.
