Everton ace Harrison Armstrong sends message to Callum Olusesi after Tottenham Champions League debut
Everton star Harrison Armstrong has congratulated Tottenham’s Callum Olusesi for making his Champions League debut.
Days after making his Premier League debut for Tottenham against Liverpool, Olusesi came off the bench in Spurs’ 3-2 Champions League win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old replaced Mathys Tel with nine minutes remaining, with the midfielder not looking out of his depth against Diego Simeone’s side.
After the contest, the England Under-19 international took to social media to revel in his first taste of Europe’s elite footballing competition.
And although Spurs exited the Champions League at the last-16 stage, Everton midfielder Armstrong was quick to offer his support to Olusesi.

Armstrong and Olusesi will have crossed paths while playing for England’s youth teams over the years.
The latter has represented his country from England Under-16 through to England Under-19, while the former has featured for the under-18s and 19s.

| Callum Olusesi’s England Under-19 career | Five caps |
Both are seen as exciting prospects and it seems they are on good terms after Armstrong sent a love heart emoji to the Tottenham youngster after he put “Champions League debut” in an Instagram post.
While Olusesi is seemingly just getting started at Tottenham, fellow midfielder Armstrong is having a bigger impact at Everton.
After playing six times for the Toffees last term, he spent the first half of this season on loan at Preston North End in the Championship.
He featured 17 times for Preston before being recalled by Everton in January, with the youngster since playing 12 times for David Moyes’ side. With him in Everton’s midfield, the future appears bright.
European race heats up for Everton
Everton put in a battling display at league leaders Arsenal last Saturday but ultimately came up short in a 2-0 loss.
That result, coupled with Brentford’s draw against Wolves, means Everton are two points off what will likely be the Premier League’s sole Conference League qualification spot.
Newcastle United’s win at Chelsea also means that Everton don’t have much room for error if they want to return to European football for the first time since 2018.

What doesn’t help Everton’s cause is that they have some very tough games on paper coming up.
Indeed, after Everton host Chelsea on Saturday, they travel to seventh-placed Brentford, before locking horns with rivals Liverpool.
Relegation-threatened, but in form, West Ham follow, before Manchester City come to Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Everton have had a good season but if they are to maintain that, they need some big wins during the run-in.
