Tyrique George: Friedkin Group have hinted that permanent Everton transfer will happen already

Tyrique George looks as though he will become a permanent Everton player.

Everton signed George on loan from Chelsea on transfer deadline day of the winter window, with the deal including an option to buy in the summer.

The Friedkin Group didn’t splash the cash in January, but the Americans have been reflecting on their business almost two months later on Merseyside.

Resharing the signing of George, as well as Zara Kramžar for their Women’s side, the Friedkins shared their commitment to the future at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Have Everton basically signed Tyrique George already?

Everton will need to pay over £22million to sign George permanently in the summer, after an old move to Fulham collapsed for that much.

That appears to be no problem for the Friedkins, who reshared the signing on Instagram on Thursday, saying they are committed to the long-term future with George.

The Friedkins wrote: “Both players bring quality, character and long-term potential, reflecting the Club’s commitment to building for the future across the Men’s and Women’s teams.”

That is the first hint that everybody is moving forward with George in mind.

David Moyes may have something to say about that, though, given he has hardly featured since signing at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Tyrique George by the numbers at Everton

George has made nine appearances in the Premier League this season, with just one of those coming from the very start.

Only five of those have been since joining Everton, with the winger completing just over 100 minutes for the Toffees so far.

George’s only start came in the 2-1 defeat against Bournemouth, and the numbers likely prove why he hasn’t been seen much since.

The winger lost possession 15 times in his hour on the pitch, with zero successful dribbles and no attempts on goal, via Sofascore.

With Everton already out of the FA Cup too, George faces a long four-week wait until he can feature again, given that next on Merseyside for the Blues are his parent club, Chelsea, on Saturday.

Despite all of that, it appears that the Toffees, and more importantly, their American owners, have full faith in George to deliver, whether this season or in the future.

With their commitment for the future shared to the masses, it appears that George will be sticking around for many years to come.
