Harrison Armstrong surely primed for Everton loan exit, this time in Premier League

Harrison Armstrong has seen his game time diminish under David Moyes at Everton in recent weeks.

The Toffees brought the midfielder back from his loan spell at Preston North End in January as the Scottish manager needed more depth in his squad.

A few weeks back, it looked like the 19-year-old was undroppable from the starting lineup, but Moyes hasn’t relied on him much in recent matches, with the youngster getting just 13 minutes of action in the last four league games.

Armstrong’s future at Hill Dickinson Stadium will undoubtedly be one to keep an eye on for fans in L4 in the summer, with a loan move to a Premier League outfit possibly on the horizon.

David Moyes has preferred midfield trio at Everton

Moyes has found the winning formula at the Toffees with James Garner, Idrissa Gueye and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall in the engine room.

The two Englishmen and the Senegal international were brilliant against Chelsea as the Merseyside outfit beat Liam Rosenior’s team 3-0 at home on 21 March.

Garner and Gueye each got an assist in the win over the London club, while the ex-Chelsea ace also stood out against his former side.

Armstrong stayed on the bench as Tim Iroegbunam and Merlin Rohl were subbed on late in the game as the Scottish manager got another win at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

With Moyes’ preference clear with his team selection, it would make sense to send the young midfielder on loan in the summer to further his development, and he’s surely being primed for it.

Over the last few months, the English star has shown he’s capable of playing in the Premier League and a move to the Championship shouldn’t be under consideration.

Who could sign Harrison Armstrong on loan next season?

As things stand, Coventry City seem favourites to win automatic promotion to the Premier League as they sit top in the Championship.

It would certainly be a no-brainer for Everton to send Armstrong to the West Midlands and possibly work under Frank Lampard in the top flight.

Middlesbrough, Ipswich Town, Millwall and Hull City are some of the other candidates to return to the English top flight, and it would make sense for the Blues to send their young midfielder on loan to one of the promoted teams.

Armstrong has shown immense potential, but the Merseyside outfit may want the teenager to get more regular game time away from L4 before he becomes a regular fixture for them.
