Jack Grealish ‘likely wants another year at Everton’ to repay fans, Man City would accommodate

Jack Grealish could be on his way back to Everton when the summer transfer window opens.

The Englishman signed for the Toffees on loan before the season began and became an instant fan favourite at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

He instantly helped to raise the levels on Merseyside after four years winning almost everything available to him at Manchester City.

There were even hopes that the attacking midfielder could end up in the England squad, but injury has ended his season and World Cup dreams.

Attention now turns to Grealish’s future at Everton ahead of the summer, where a battle could begin with Aston Villa.

Manchester City to push for Jack Grealish return to Everton

The 30-year-old’s injury came at the worst possible time as he was finally hitting a consistent run of form after months of struggle under Pep Guardiola.

Moyes showed faith in the number 18 to come in and hit the ground running, and in just four months, he did exactly that for the Blues.

He may be set to miss the rest of the campaign, but that hasn’t halted interest in a permanent deal from the L4 outfit.

Former Everton scout Bryan King believes Aston Villa will also be interested in his signature, but Man City would rather push for a Toffees return.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, King said: “When you saw the impact he had on the club in the summer, that proves that he’d be worth the money.

“The fans are on his side, and he really loves the club. I think Aston Villa would also welcome him in because of his history there.

“You can’t take away the fact that he loves Villa.

“I did think the supporters were harsh on him when he left there. He was immense for them, but I don’t think that treatment will put him off going back there.

“I think he wants another year at Everton to repay the welcome he got.

“I think Everton will do all they can to sign him, and I think Manchester City will accommodate that.

“Good luck to him, whatever he decides to do in the summer, because he’ll always have options.”

Grealish has endeared himself to the Everton faithful, so there will certainly be hope he sticks around Merseyside beyond the current season.

Aston Villa could now miss out on Grealish

Earlier in the campaign, Unai Emery’s side were true title challengers and that in itself may halt any potential signings from the Etihad moving forward.

The Citizens may see the claret and blue outfit as a direct Premier League rival, and a sale to benefit them wouldn’t make sense.

That could represent the perfect opportunity for Everton to step in and bring Grealish back to Hill Dickinson Stadium after a productive loan spell.

That will certainly represent a blow for the Villans, but their loss will be Moyes’ gain moving into a new Premier League campaign.

Signing the Englishman will certainly mark a statement of intent and prove that the Blues aren’t messing around.
