Everton have the perfect opportunity to sign Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City in the summer.

The Ghana international has been linked with a Merseyside switch previously, but a move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium didn’t materialise.

Despite plenty of links to the Premier League and beyond, the winger remained with the Foxes after their relegation to the Championship.

Things have gone terribly for City, and they could soon be on their way to League One due to a combination of shocking performances and a six-point deduction.

Leicester will now be willing to sell their biggest assets, something that could allow Everton to finally sign Fatawu when the transfer window opens.

The 22-year-old certainly caught the eye in his first two seasons in England, but has found things difficult at times in the second tier this time around.

His record is still impressive for a side that is seriously struggling, but the hype surrounding the forward has certainly dropped off somewhat.

That shouldn’t stop interested parties from making a move in the upcoming transfer window, as his 16-goal involvements are certainly a shining light in the East Midlands.

That makes it all the more surprising that the Foxes would be willing to drop their asking price for the Ghanaian.

Alan Nixon reported to his Patreon on Sunday that Leicester are set to stray from Fatawu’s £30million buy-out clause due to fears no one would take him at that price.

That could see bids come in closer to £20m, a fee which “should be accepted” as the King Power outfit prepares for a decrease in its wage bill at the end of the season.

David Moyes has shown interest in Fatawu previously and could now have the perfect opportunity to land his signature very soon.

It is no secret that the Blues are eager to sign a new right-sided attacker once the summer transfer window opens.

Multiple names have been linked previously, but Fatawu may now find himself edging closer to the top of the pile.

That is especially the case with the Liverpool Echo‘s Joe Thomas reporting earlier in March that “Moyes is a fan” of the Leicester City star.

He was categorised as one of Everton’s “prime right-wing targets” last summer, and that could be replicated moving into the latest edition.

With this new bombshell price tag, it may now be the perfect time for the Toffees to swoop in and sign Fatawu.
