Dan Friedkin must be proud at Everton after £9.9m spent on agent fees

Dan Friedkin has shown an effective recruitment strategy at Everton over the last two transfer windows.

The Toffees have spent a little over £110million on players since Americans took over from Farhad Moshiri in December 2024.

Now, the English FA have released figures on how much Premier League clubs have spent on agent fees between 4 February 2025 and 2 February 2026, with the Blues expending slightly above £9.9m.

It’s clear that the Merseyside outfit are punching above their weight as they are just behind Burnley as the second-lowest spenders on agent fees for the period.

David Moyes is dreaming of Europe at Hill Dickinson Stadium, with the side in L4 sitting just three points behind fifth-place Liverpool, and The Friedkin Group can undoubtedly be proud of their achievements so far.

Everton a shining example for BlueCo at Chelsea

Friedkin is arguably redeeming American reputation in the Premier League after the disaster Todd Boehly and BlueCo have been at Chelsea.

The London outfit were taken over by the American consortium in 2022 and have since been the butt of jokes among fans due to their owners.

From wanting Thomas Tuchel to play an impossible formation to handing players almost decade-long contracts, Stamford Bridge has surely seen better days.

Chelsea spent over £65m in agent fees during the period, considerably higher than any other team on the list.

Moyes got the better of Liam Rosenior at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 21 March, leaving the Merseysiders just two points behind the London club with seven Premier League games to go.

While TFG and Moyes can relish in their achievements at the end of the season if they qualify for Europe, there’s still a lot that must be done at Everton in the summer.

Friedkin deserves a lot of credit for spending diligently at the Toffees, but they will surely need to splash some cash in the upcoming transfer window.

It’s clear that the Scottish manager’s squad lacks quality in depth for the Premier League, let alone the Champions League or Europa League.

Fans can be relatively pleased with the American owners in L4, but the Merseyside outfit have to be bold with their recruitment at the end of the season.
