Everton surely wouldn’t need to spend over £50m as Arsenal eye £100m fee involving Myles Lewis-Skelly

Everton are understood to be interested in signing Myles Lewis-Skelly, and the Toffees should feel confident of landing his services for no more than £50million.

Bolstering at the full-back position looks to be priority for Everton heading into the summer transfer window, as it wasn’t addressed this winter.

Seamus Coleman is out of contract and is surely more likely to leave/retire than sign a new deal, whilst Vitalii Mykolenko, Jake O’Brien and Nathan Patterson are all facing uncertain long-term futures too.

David Moyes is likely to need stronger options in that department if he’s to take Everton to the next level, with the Toffees expected to enjoy an ambitious summer of spending in the coming months to make that happen.

Everton’s finances appear to be in good shape based off their recent financial accounts, and so pushing the boat out to land some coveted signatures should be on their transfer agenda.

What is Arsenal’s stance on selling Myles Lewis-Skelly?

Lewis-Skelly is reportedly open to leaving Arsenal this summer, which may well be music to Everton’s ears, as the Hill Dickinson Stadium side have been strongly linked with acquiring his services in recent times.

Still only 19-years old, the six-cap England international hasn’t quite been able to build on his breakthrough 2024-25 season in 2025-26.

He played 23 times for Arsenal in the Premier League last term, with 15 of those being as part of the starting XI, making a total of 39 appearances in all competitions.

So far this season, however, the left-back has made just one start from 14 league outings, with 28 appearances in all competitions.

As a result, there’s certainly a fair share of Arsenal supporters who would like to see the England international handed more first-team minutes, as he’s certainly a player with bags of talent and potential.

But, as per a report from BBC Sport, the Gunners are said to be prepared to listen to offers for Lewis-Skelly, as well as one of their other brightest young academy graduates, Ethan Nwaneri.

It’s claimed that sources from inside the Emirates Stadium suggest that Arsenal would look to generate a combined fee of around £100m for the sales of those two players.

Everton could get Lewis-Skelly for no more than £50m

Arsenal seem to be a little bit undecided on what Lewis-Skelly is, as they’ve played him both at left-back and in midfield.

However, in Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori they have two elite left-back options, and are in the possession of an embarrassment of riches in midfield too.

Everton can use this to their advantage, as they would most certainly view him as a left-back, and could prey on the Gunners’ possible relaxed view on Lewis-Skelly to land a bargain deal.

The Toffees, if they’re shrewd, should feel confident of not needing to splash out any more than £50m on Lewis-Skelly, but with the inclusions of sell-ons and possible extra sweeteners, they could agree an initial fee perhaps closer to £35-40m.
